Reference data
Some conversions turn on a table rather than a factor. Those tables live here, each on a page of its own with its sources, an open licence and an embed, so they can be cited and reused instead of copied out of the middle of a converter page.
EU nutrition label energy conversion factors (Annex XIV)
Annex XIV of Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 with the implied kJ per kcal and its gap from 4.184 worked out for every nutrient.
Decimal versus binary byte units, with the gap calculated
The full KB to EB ladder against KiB to EiB, with the gap at every rung and what each advertised drive size reports.
How these pages are built
Every number on a reference page is computed at build time from the same module the converter pages read, so the two can never disagree. Derived columns, such as the gap between a legal conversion factor and the physical one or the difference between a decimal and a binary unit, are calculated from the columns beside them rather than typed in, which is what makes them worth citing.
Each page names its sources and states exactly what each source is being cited for. Where the underlying data carries its own terms, as EU legislation does, those terms are stated alongside ours rather than glossed over.
