The statute mile is not the nautical mile

The mile on this page is the statute (land) mile of 1609.344 m. A nautical mile, used in aviation and at sea, is 1852 m, about 15 percent longer. A '10 mile' road sign and a '10 nautical mile' chart distance are not the same.

0.6 is a rough guide only
