About UnitGlide
A calm, accurate unit converter hub that runs entirely in your browser.
What it is
UnitGlide is a collection of 352+ unit converters covering 12 measurement categories: length, mass, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, digital storage, pressure, energy, power and typography. Every conversion uses internationally defined factors (or, for temperature, the exact scale formulas), so the results are the same ones you would get working the math out by hand.
Who builds it
UnitGlide is built and maintained by FusionStudios, an independent web studio. It is run as a small, focused reference tool rather than a venture: no investors to please, no growth targets pulling the design toward pop-ups and upsells. Corrections and requests go straight to the people who maintain the site through the contact page, and they are read.
How it works
Each unit stores how many base units it equals, and a conversion is simply value × from-factor ÷ to-factor. The factors are kept at full precision, so no intermediate rounding creeps in; only the number shown on screen is trimmed for readability. Temperature is handled with the exact scale formulas instead of a factor, because the scales do not share a zero. The full method, and the BIPM, NIST and IEC definitions behind every category, are on the methodology and sources page.
Why it runs in your browser
When you type a value, the conversion happens in your own browser with plain JavaScript. Nothing you enter is sent to a server, stored, or shared, which also means the converters keep working on a flaky connection once a page has loaded. The site is intentionally simple: no accounts, no pop-ups, and no clutter between you and the numbers you came for.
Accuracy and corrections
Accuracy is the whole point of a converter, so factors are checked against their defining sources and stated openly on each page. If you spot a factor that looks off, or a conversion you are missing, tell us through the contact page and we will fix or add it.
